Hey, I'm Nicole Bedoya.
Your fun, badass, ADHD bestie and coach, who also happens to know her shit and will challenge you with fun and effective kettlebell workouts like never before. Onboard? Cool
My Story
I was never a shy kid, I spent my days running around like a crazy child. And all that energy got channeled into sport after sport. Sometime in high school however, I felt it for the first time...the feeling of being insecure about my body. The next 10 years I would have an eating disorder and over-exercise as a means to maintain my weight. As you can imagine, there isn't room in life for much else to flourish when your mental and physical energy is tied up in a disorder like this.
THE MINDSET SHIFT THAT FINALLY CLICKED: TRAINING FOR PERFORMANCE
After therapy and healing from my eating disorder, I had a much different relationship with my body and with fitness. Fitness was no longer about how small I could be, but what I was capable of - one tool in my toolbox to help me feel good.
Right around this time, I stumbled upon a kettlebell studio. I got hooked QUICK.
What I found in kettlebells was the permission to express my body in a way that aligned with my mental shift as well: I wanted to feel strong, powerful, and capable. Kettlebell training was my vehicle to feel this.
My goals were no longer about weight loss or punishment, but instead:
- Protecting my peace
- Moving well for a long time
- Building muscle to age with strength
- & eventually, Empowering others to take up space and do the same
BECOMING A COACH
After therapy and healing from my eating disorder, I had a much different relationship with my body and with fitness. Fitness was no longer about how small I could be, but what I was capable of - one tool in my toolbox to help me feel good.
This is my favorite part of the story, because it's why we are here. It's why we go through hard, life-changing things.
It became clear fast that I didn't just like working out, I loved going to certifications, coaching others, and helping people move well and feel good about their fitness journey.
So I started my coaching journey, teaching group fitness classes in NYC, personal training clients, and eventually when 2020 came around - starting Bedoya Bells.
My overall mission is to create a membership that values LONGEVITY in training. For example, instead of doing random workouts and killing yourself each session - you follow a program with progressive overload that helps you get stronger and feel good.
On top of that, I want to put the facetime in to get to know my clients and pour into them, so that we can make a strong community in an online world that feels really noisy at times.
